On November 27th last year, Ratan Singh Sandip ran over a 60-year-old woman with his car while she was jogging on a footpath in Logan near Brisbane. Earlier this month, he was also charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death by Queensland police.

Ratan Singh Sandip who is 25-year-old was due to face court on Monday. He alleged that he fatally striking 60-year-old Beth Eden of Logan near Brisbane with his car while she was jogging on a footpath in November last year.

But on11th January, Friday night, Queensland police was alerted that Mr.Ratan was trying to board a flight to Bahrain as a tip-off. But he was arrested at Brisbane International Airport.

Mr. Sandip ’s hearing was held at Beenleigh Magistrates Court yesterday. Mr. Sandip did not apply for bail and will remain in police custody. After the court hearing on January 14, Mr. Sandip refused to speak to the media.  The incident happened when Mr. Sandip was driving along Milne Street. His car suddenly left the roadway and collided into Ms. Eden while she was jogging on the footpath in the wee hours of the morning which is just 300 meters from her Mt Warren Park residence.

Mr. Sandip was trying to flee from the country as confirmed by Queensland Police spokesman, reported Courier Mail. Mr. Sandip was also present at the hearing. Ms. Eden’s family were thankful to the police for nabbing him before he fled the country.
