Alberta invited 150 Express Entry candidates in the latest draw held on 9th January. Candidates with a CRS score of as low as 350 were invited to apply for a provincial nomination.
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) uses the Alberta Express Entry Stream to invite eligible candidates with a valid Express Entry.
The Express Entry System controls the pool of candidates for Canada’s three main economic migration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Federal Skilled Trades Program
- Canadian Experience Class
Express Entry candidates who are successful in getting a provincial nomination to get 600 more points on their CRS score in the Express Entry. These points guarantee Canada’s PR invitation in the following Express Entry Draws.
the AINP prioritizes Express Entry candidates who:
- Have prior work experience or an Alberta job offer
- Have graduated from a post-secondary institution in Canada and have a valid job offer
- Have an Alberta-based blood relative (parent, sibling or children)
In the 9th January draw, the minimum required CRS score of 350 is significantly lower than the current cut-off score for Federal Express Entry. On January 22nd, the new Express Entry draw had a cut-off score of 471.
Also, the job offer from Alberta is not needed to be considered for an invitation from the AINP.
