Saskatchewan immigration draw

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program held on 9 January issued 309 invitations for the new draw. This is the SINP’s first draw as of 2020. Candidates invited to this draw didn’t need to have a Saskatchewan job offer.

Nevertheless, applicants who had been accepted had to send an EOI to the SINP. They also had to have at least one year of relevant work experience related to their education in a professional profession.

The qualified EOIs are scored on the SINP’s International Skilled Worker Points Evaluation System. The score determines a candidate’s rank within the SINP pool. Highest-scoring candidates are invited by the SINP in regular draws.

The January 9 draw invited candidates in both the In-demand professions and the Express Entry types. In both streams, the minimum cut-off score was 69 points.

The subcategory SINP Express Entry has invited 142 Express Entry Pool candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Candidates who are competitive in securing a provincial nomination may add a further 600 points to their CRS scores.

Candidates who have no valid profile in the Federal Express Entry Pool can apply under the subcategory Occupations In-demand.

In the Occupations, In-demand subcategory 166 invitations were given in the draw on 9 January.

The SINP will no longer use an In-demand Occupations List. Instead, it now uses an Excluded List of Occupations. This gives greater flexibility in addressing the ever-changing needs of Saskatchewan’s labor market.

The 9th January draw invited candidates in 82 occupations. Some of these jobs on-demand included:

  • Farming managers
  • Administrative officers
  • Electronic Service Technicians for household and business equipment
  • Senior managers – financial, communications and other business services
